Notifications
A notification is a way to inform someone (benefiters, new hires, employees, teams, and so on) that something is happening in Rival Workflow. Notifications can be sent by email or SMS.
Key info
- When you implement the system, you get default notifications.
- Notifications are listed on the Notifications page, and they are organized by type.
- You can customize default notifications to meet your needs. Customization may include changing content (the message), changing recipients, and specializing based on specific properties.
- You can disable a notification if you don't want the system to consider it.
- You can turn off a notification's ability to send an email or text.
- Notifications are automatic, but you can resend them from the Employee Task List.
Notification channels
| Channel | Description |
|---|---|
| Email notifications | System-generated emails triggered by task and event actions. Includes default notifications, specialization, preview/export, and resend capabilities. Available to all clients. |
| SMS Notifications | One-way, system-generated text messages tied to task notifications. Requires Twilio enrollment (paid add-on). Employees cannot reply to these messages. |
Good to know
- Email and SMS send independently — you can enable one or both on any notification.
- For bi-directional SMS messaging (where employees can reply), see Conversations under Employee Profile.
