Interview Scheduling
Interview Scheduling in Rival Recruit lets you schedule, manage, and track interviews directly within the ATS — eliminating the need to coordinate availability manually or manage interviews outside the system.
Recruit supports two interview formats:
- Panel interviews — Schedule a single time slot where multiple interviewers meet with the candidate simultaneously.
- Sequential interviews — Schedule a series of back-to-back interviews where the candidate meets with different interviewers one after another, organized into time blocks with configurable breaks.
How it works
Interview Scheduling uses a third-party service (Cronofy) to connect to your organization's calendar system (Google Workspace or Microsoft Office 365/Exchange). This allows Recruit to read free/busy periods from interviewer calendars and create interview events automatically.
A one-time admin setup connects your calendar service to Recruit using a service account. After setup, interviewers are assigned a scheduling user type (Organizer or Participant) that determines their capabilities within the system.

For IT administrators
Connecting Recruit's Interview Scheduling to your calendar service requires IT configuration (service accounts, permissions, and whitelisting). These guides are also accessible in-product under Interview Scheduling > Calendar Authorization.

Key information
- Interview Scheduling is included for all Recruit clients and enabled upon request.
- Sequential interviewing requires separate feature enablement (contact your account representative).
- If your organization's mail server is behind a VPN or firewall with strict MDM policies, calendar connectivity may require additional whitelisting. See the IT configuration guide for details.
