Password rules
One of the most important ways to ensure that your Rival Recruit site is safe and secure is to have strong password rules. Client administrators work with Rival Support to determine password rules and then Rival Support configures them.
Password rules to consider:
- Maximum length
- Minimum length
- Require mixed case
- Require numeric
- Require special characters
- Restrict email address from being used as password
- Restrict user ID from being used as password
- Restrict user name from being used as password
- Password history (how many new passwords a user has to create before a previous password can be reused)
- Determine after how many days the password needs to be reset by every ATS user (value of 0 means it never expires)
- Determine how many days prior to the password expiration date the system sends a reminder email to users to remind them to change their password. The email is sent daily until the user changes the password or the password expires.
