Purge candidates from recycle bin
- Purging permanently deletes records from the system.
- You can purge individual records, all records, or configure auto-purge to remove records automatically after a set number of days.
- Purging happens via a nightly scheduled task, which occurs during off-peak hours at night (U.S. time).
- You must have the Purge Recycle Bin permission to perform this task.
Manually purge candidates
- From the navigation bar, click Candidates>Recycle Bin. The Recycle Bin page opens.
- To purge:
- An individual candidate or candidates, select their check boxes. Click

Configure auto-purge
Auto-purge automatically removes candidates from the Recycle Bin after a configured number of days. This is useful for GDPR/CCPA compliance, storage optimization, or enforcing a consistent retention policy.
- Go to Administration > Settings.
- Under the ATS section, locate Recycle Bin Auto-Purge.
- Select Yes to enable auto-purge, or No to disable it.
- Configure the retention period (the number of days candidates remain in the Recycle Bin before being permanently purged). The default is 90 days.
- Click Save.
When auto-purge is enabled, candidates in the Recycle Bin are permanently purged after the configured retention period via nightly scheduled task.
Tip: Manual purge options (Purge Recycle Bin and Delete) remain available when auto-purge is enabled.
