A 9-Box is a chart that is used to examine talent within your organization and help make succession planning decisions. A 9-Box has an x and y axis. The x-axis represents the employees’ performance, and the y-axis represents their attributes.

Succession Planning administrators configure (set up) a 9-Box. After it's configured, Succession Planning administrators and editors can create a 9-Box for each talent pool and assign employees to boxes based on their performance and potential.
